What To Anticipate From a Fireside Coaching Partnership

I was deeply moved to receive this rich testimonial from Elisha, who I’ve been working with over the past twelve months. She kindly gave me permission to share it, and it beautifully captures the different elements of my approach, giving a sense of what you might expect from a one-to-one coaching partnership.

A Partnership That Moves At Your Pace

“I came to Andy keen to finally dive into a project idea that I’d been sitting on for a long time. It quickly became clear that I wasn’t as ready as I thought, but rather than pushing me, Andy created a space where I felt safe to explore what was really going on.”

Coaching spirals blend in-person (via Zoom) and self-paced reflective communication. We intentionally leave space around the edges for observation and exploration. Often, what we think we want points to something deeper, which becomes clearer over time. Or sometimes, our path forward needs to look different than expected, and it takes space and perspective to reveal that.

Unravelling and Decluttering Tangled Thoughts

“What I really appreciate about Andy is his ability to listen and reflect in a way that cuts right to the heart of things. I often come to sessions with a tangle of ideas, and he gradually helps me find clarity where there were previously only knots.”

Every conversation is different and often move in unpredictable directions. I work with each person to bring clarity to their thoughts, challenges, and desires. It’s often surprising to find an unexpected key that can open new doors and perspectives, bringing light and space to what previously felt stuck.

No Mould, No Agenda, No Judgement

“Unlike some other coaches, working with Andy feels refreshingly free from any agenda—no mould I have to fit into, no pressure to be anything other than myself. That freedom allows me to go deep, knowing I won’t be judged.”

We keep a shared journal to document our journey throughout our coaching partnership. This gives us somewhere to capture questions, resources, links, and reflections inspired by our conversations. While I have tools we can use, I take a non-prescriptive approach, helping you uncover what works best for you. This journal becomes a living map of where you’ve been and where you’re going, turning the experience into an adventure rather than a rigid process.

Personalised Sound Anchors

“Another standout aspect of Andy’s approach is how he weaves music and sound into the work. I didn’t know I needed this, but it brought new perspectives, peace, and a sense of play.”

My love for music naturally extends into my coaching. I create personal sound anchors—a blend of reflective meditation and music based on our discussions. These can be used however you like, adding depth to our work. If you’ve listened to The Gentle Rebel Podcast, you’ll know I’m a sucker for metaphors. Picture language, art, and creativity help us understand ourselves and the world more deeply, and I enjoy helping others find metaphors that resonate and can be used during our coaching partnership.

Here is a Sound Anchor I created for someone earlier this year. These short meditations blend music, words, and personal references that reflect the conversations we’ve had.

A Coaching Partnership Inviting Exploration and Depth

“Andy’s innovative spiral format, combining live sessions with reflection breaks, was invaluable. Those pauses allowed everything to settle, and each time we met, we could bring a new layer of insight.”

The coaching spirals create an ongoing conversation, allowing dots to connect in unexpected ways. Transformation can seem gradual or sudden, but often both are at work. The spirals allow us to notice and document these beautiful moments of discovery.

“Before working with Andy, I felt stuck in the HSP ‘pause to check’ mode. Now, having reconnected with parts of myself that were long-hidden, I feel my life is firmly in ‘play’ mode. I’m endlessly grateful for Andy’s many contributions to that!”

Coaching partnership is ultimately about helping you move in a meaningful direction. But it also involves slowing down, recalibrating, and finding out where you want to go and how you want to approach the journey.

“If you’re feeling the pull to work with Andy, trust that feeling – he has my highest recommendation!”

Thank you, Elisha!
