Setting boundaries when you want to do it all (with Leah Burkhart)
I wanted to revisit my conversation with Leah Burkhart, Setting Boundaries When You Want to Do It All this month, as it brought out a few interesting ideas to explore around the creativity theme. Leah talked about the idea of “death by opportunity”—how burnout can stem not just from external pressures but from our own excitement and endless possibilities. As she aptly put it in a previous chat, “The good news is, nothing is stopping us. The bad news is, nothing is stopping us“, highlighting how modern access to connection and creation has erased natural boundaries, seasons, and rhythms.
One key takeaway was the difference between a Hell Yeah! and a quieter, more sustainable mmm yeah, especially for highly sensitive people. While initial excitement and enthusiasm is great, long-term commitment often requires steadier energy. It’s difficult to sustain motivation if we need to maintain the same high energy state in order to make progress.
I’d love to hear what stands out to you from the conversation. Share your thoughts here.

Setting Boundaries When You Want to Do it All (with Leah Burkhart)
If you're a highly sensitive person with lots of interests and projects, how do you create boundaries when you're excited about everything?
