We are living through a strange and difficult period of history right now. The news is full of stories that reflect and sow yet more division, hatred, and fear. Everywhere you look there is tumult and uncertainty. And the future feels uncertain at times. Both as a society, and for us as individuals as we try to navigate this ever changing reality.

The collective trauma we are living through as society is taking its toll. The brain can't discriminate between things that happen directly to us and the things it sees going on elsewhere. The news, social media, and our endless supply of information, feed the stress response all day every day, putting us in a constant state of fight, flight, or freeze.

We feel lost and confused. What is our purpose? Where should we focus? How can we find meaning in our lives?

What Can We Do?

We must take these feelings seriously. Not simply furrow the brow and get on with it; hiding and hurting. We've got to take a stand. To nurture and cultivate some serious gentle rebellion in the face of this self-destructive, fear-infested rabbit hole that we are sliding down.

Change Is Possible

There is an appetite among the introverted and highly sensitive creative people I work with, to see the world with new eyes. And to bring this vision into practice through eyes of love, connection, and gentleness. In other words, true strength, courage, and power. This is the path to self-acceptance, true belonging, and living a life of meaning and passion.

Coming Together to Draw From the Well

I've always endeavoured to use my blog and podcast to bring a positive message to the world. But it's not always easy. Especially when it feels like things are falling apart around you.

This series is my response to that feeling. As I felt it rising within me. I conceived the idea, first and foremost to encourage, inspire, and equip myself. I wanted the voices of those I follow, know, and trust, to remind me that it's not all doom and gloom. Thankfully, they've delivered this! And I'm so grateful for their wisdom and insight.

Now you get to benefit from it too! I reached out to my friends for some deep soul-level help, asking them six questions:

  1. What positively drives you in your day to day life?
  2. How do you know when it's time to recharge your batteries?
  3. What is your go-to source of self-care and rest?
  4. If you could wave a magic wand, what would you change about the world right now?
  5. If you could share just one message, what would you want people to know, believe, or feel about themselves?
  6. Knowing what you know now, what would you say to a younger version of yourself by way of encouragement, reassurance, or inspiration?

The responses to the questions blew me away. And it has turned into a much bigger project than I ever anticipated.

When I recently asked readers about their biggest struggles they needed support with, it all felt very familiar. The main theme that consistently emerged was, how to remain focussed, peaceful, and positive, when the world feels so overwhelmingly hostile and full of fear and hate.

This felt like something I could facilitate by way of responding to these struggles. And I'm so glad to say that it does an amazing job at just that.

It has reminded me...There IS hope. There IS future. There IS community and connection to something bigger than the fear of this moment. And there are millions of people who have a heart to turn this stuff around, and bring some serious light into the darkness.

Come and meet them!
