For Highly Sensitive People and Those Who Feel Things Deeply

When the world feels unpredictable and chaotic, it is hard to know how to respond. Especially if you tend to feel, care, and think about things deeply. This gathering provides space and time to step back, slow down, and anchor in a spirit of hope and possibility. We use a cornerstone prompt to help frame conversations, creative meanderings, and personal reflections during the session (and beyond).

Coming together with people who “get it” gives rise to energy, joy, and hope. Creativity is about allowing ourselves to see possibility in the ordinary and it can help us face the world's unpredictability without losing heart. It also invites different processing levels, allowing new insights and approaches to existing challenges to occur organically and accidentally.

Using one simple prompt, we will open a doorway to help our natural creative voice speak in a safe, calm, playfully encouraging environment. If you don't consider yourself particularly (or at all) "creative", you might discover how your creativity can become a powerful tool for partnering with your innate sensitivity to navigate life's noise.

The retreat is a gentle invitation into creativity as a universally accessible process rather than product. It's a non-judgemental space for you to bring your sense of curiosity...we will see what follows!

session format

The workshops can be run as 90 minute, half-day, or full-day sessions.

Welcome and Introduction

A chance to arrive together as we consider our hopes, needs, and intentions for the session.

Creative Explorations

We pick our collective prompt. A phrase or question broad enough for a wide range of interpretations, angles, and perspectives.

We come together a few times during the session to check-in, share, and invite collaboration.

Closing Reflections and Takeaways

A moment's pause before we finish. This is a chance to share discoveries, reflections, and and anything you're taking with you.

what to bring

Materials, tools, and resources you want to use in your creative play (e.g. phone/camera, sketchbook, writing paper, journal, pens, paints, musical instrument, yarn, dancing shoes, etc.) - and you don’t need to know what you’re doing with it; it’s an opportunity to experiment!

Any extra materials that you fancy sharing with other people (it’s a great chance to share knowledge and learn new crafts)

Your curiosity and openness (the more you bring, the more you might find)

Anything that helps you feel comfortable (drinks, snacks, clothing etc)

I will also bring creative supplies, materials, and toys for us to play with. I'm always collecting!

Andy Mort | UK
Founder and Creative Co-ordinator

I’m Andy Mort—a professionally qualified coach, songwriter, and sound artist.

I love making things, and I really love helping other people find their creative spark so they can make things, too.

My life has been full of professional and personal projects (music, writing, animation, podcast production, video editing, web development, leading The Haven - an online community for highly sensitive people (HSPs), and creativity coaching). I also spent six years working as an undertaker. It helped me grow and taught me a lot about the things that matter most in life.

I use the term ‘Slow Coach’ to describe what I do because it’s a gently rebellious concept in a fast-paced world. It’s vital for us to hit the brakes from time to time so we can get clear on the important and meaningful stuff that often gets left beneath external distractions and pressures.

We can encounter our playful spirit and natural creativity when we slow down and come to our senses.
